In the heart of Bhadohi, a town nestled in Uttar Pradesh known for its rich heritage of carpet weaving, a young boy named Late. Haji Mohammad Suleman began his journey. Bhadohi, often referred to as the “Carpet City of India”, was where tradition met craftsmanship, and it was here that Haji Suleman’s love for carpets first blossomed. Born into a family of artisans, Haji Suleman had a gift—not just for weaving carpets but for infusing them with life and meaning. He grew up watching the artisans of Bhadohi at work, weaving intricate patterns that would later inspire him to create some of the finest carpets the world has ever seen.

The Visionary

From a young age, Haji Suleman was fascinated by the idea that carpets could be more than floor coverings—they could tell stories. As he learned the craft from his father, he dreamed of creating carpets that would adorn the homes of royalty and commoners alike, all while carrying the essence of Bhadohi’s heritage. This dream became reality when, in 1965, Haji Suleman founded Carpet Home Decor, bringing the art of Bhadohi’s carpet weaving to the world stage.

بھدوہی کے قلب میں، اتر پردیش میں واقع ایک قصبہ جو قالین کی بُنائی کے بھرپور ورثے کے لیے جانا جاتا ہے، ایک نوجوان لڑکا مرحوم۔ حاجی محمد سلیمان نے سفر شروع کیا۔ بھدوہی، جسے اکثر "کارپٹ سٹی آف انڈیا" کہا جاتا ہے، وہ جگہ تھی جہاں روایت دستکاری سے ملتی تھی، اور یہیں سے حاجی سلیمان کی قالین سے محبت پہلی بار پھولی تھی۔ کاریگروں کے گھرانے میں پیدا ہوئے، حاجی سلیمان کے پاس ایک تحفہ تھا - نہ صرف قالین بُننے کے لیے بلکہ ان میں زندگی اور معنی خیزی کے لیے۔ وہ بھدوہی کے کاریگروں کو کام پر دیکھ کر پلا بڑھا، پیچیدہ نمونوں کو بُنتے ہوئے جو بعد میں اسے دنیا کے بہترین قالین بنانے کی ترغیب دے گا۔

چھوٹی عمر سے، حاجی سلیمان اس خیال سے متوجہ تھے کہ قالین فرش کے اوڑھنے سے زیادہ ہو سکتے ہیں- وہ کہانیاں سنا سکتے ہیں۔ جیسا کہ اس نے اپنے والد سے ہنر سیکھا، اس نے ایسے قالین بنانے کا خواب دیکھا جو بھدوہی کے ورثے کے جوہر کو لے کر، شاہی خاندانوں اور عام لوگوں کے گھروں کی زینت بنے۔ یہ خواب اس وقت حقیقت بن گیا جب، 1965 میں، حاجی سلیمان نے کارپٹ ہوم ڈیکور کی بنیاد رکھی، جس سے بھدوہی کے قالین کی بُنائی کے فن کو عالمی سطح پر لایا گیا۔

Drawing from both Persian and Indian influences, he meticulously selected the finest raw materials and collaborated with the most skilled artisans to bring his unique designs to life.

His work was not just about creating beautiful carpets; it was about celebrating the tradition of Bhadohi, blending it with modern aesthetics, and making carpets that were true works of art. Carpet Home Decor soon became synonymous with luxury, quality, and craftsmanship, and Haji Suleman’s creations began to find their way into the homes of discerning clients around the world.

After his passing, the responsibility of carrying forward this rich tradition and expanding the business fell to his Mr. Junaid Alam. Born and raised in Bhadohi, Mr. Junaid Alam had long been inspired by Haji Suleman’s dedication to his craft. With a keen eye for design and a deep respect for the art of carpet weaving, Alam was the perfect successor to lead the company into a new era. With a fresh perspective and a passion for innovation, Mr. Alam embarked on a mission to take Carpet Home Decor to new heights. His vision was clear: to honor Haji Suleman’s legacy by maintaining the same high standards of craftsmanship while introducing modern technology to meet global demand. Under his leadership, the company expanded its product line to include not only luxury carpets but also rugs, blinds, pvc, vinyl carpets, rubber mat and wallpapers, etc ensuring that the brand remained relevant in an ever-evolving market.

Today, Carpet Home Decor continues to thrive under the leadership of Mr. Junaid Alam, combining traditional craftsmanship from Bhadohi with modern design and innovation.
